Earl started out life within the farming community of Walsingham, Ontario. His family grew as his parents both remarried and added more siblings. After learning his work hard/play hard ethics in the tobacco fields, he was in his late teens when he decided to go out on his own. He settled in the Preston area where he started friendships that would become an important and lasting part of his life.
Earl married Jennifer (Gambling) in 1967. They worked hard to raise three children in a home that saw alot of family and friends pass through.
A love of motorized vehicles – especially Ford! – lead Earl back to school. He achieved his mechanics license from Conestoga College which began his life long career in the automotive industry.
As a proud member of the Preston Legion he had many outlets for his social, outgoing nature. He helped start up and played on a snooker league for many years. The “Dirty Dozen” had many legendary end-of-season summer parties!
There were two annual events that Earl didn’t like to miss. Every February there was Daytona Race Week and every summer there was the infamous “boys only” fishing trip. He created tons of fantastic memories with friends and family over the years from these events and all the many get-togethers. With his head-on and honest approach to life, he made an impact on us all that will last forever.
