Maryann Mandaline Black

With unbearable sadness, we announce the passing of Maryann Black on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Maryann was a kind-hearted soul. She loved to help others, even those she didn’t know. She thrived in her role as a mother and grandmother, and was a dearly beloved daughter to her parents. She adored animals, particularly horses, and her three dogs, or “fur babies,” Charlie, Toby, and Hazel. Maryann loved spending time outdoors camping, and will always cherish the time she spent in Niagara Falls. Maryann’s hobbies included baking and cooking, making crafts, watching Days of Our Lives, and listening to 70’s rock. The sound of her infectious laughter made our home feel joyful, and words cannot express how much we will miss her. Left behind to mourn her loss is the love of her life and husband of 23 years, Scott Black. She will be forever missed by her beloved children Alyssa Black, Amy Black, Steven Falko and family, and Christine (Craig) Hilborn and family; her siblings Nicholas (Louisa) Vujinovic and family, and Joe (Ela) Vujinovic and family; and her parents Anton and Ana Vujinovic. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Barthel Funeral Home on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Barthel Funeral Home. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
