

Maurice was born February 2, 1946 to Germaine and Albert Cormier in Sault Ste Marie, ON, where he went on to spend most of his adult life. Maurice met the love of his life, Colette, in 1968, and they went on to spend 55 years happily married, and have 4 beloved children.
Maurice was known for his joy in life, compassion and kindness. He was an avid gardener and spent many hours carefully tending his plants. He was a prayerful man, and was devoted to his church and God. Maurice was a devout member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic church in Sault Ste Marie for many years, and later St. Clements Roman Catholic church in Cambridge.
Although he has passed on, he will live in our hearts forever.
Maurice had a large family, including wife Marie Colette Cormier; their children Michelle, Laura (Kwame), David (Carly), and Marc-Andre (Karyn); beloved grandchildren Evangeline, Nova Winter, and Rowan; brothers Ronald(d) (Sharon (d)), Claude (Susan), and Patrick (Doris); brothers- and sisters-in-law Leola Allard(d) (Burt(d)), Vernon Doucet(d) (Viola), Claudia Cormier(d) (Jules(d)), Louis Doucet (Connie(d), Rosemarie(d)), Armand Doucet (Pamela), and Armande Cliche(d) (Andre(d)); Aunt Claire Clement; and many other living and deceased aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services for celebration of Maurice’s life will be held on October 22, 2025 at 10am, at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, 745 Duke St, Cambridge, ON N3H 3T7.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Knights of Columbus, or Gideons International.
