Reta May Butcher

With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce that Reta May Butcher passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the age of 86. We will remember Reta for her infectious laugh, her kisses, her hugs, her jokes, she was Christmas… her crafts, her green stuff, her cabbage rolls, her roosters, she was our loving family matriarch and she will be missed so much. Reta worked at Zehrs and ran the Cambridge Singles Club for 21 years. She was a loving, giving, and creative woman, and a dear friend to all who knew her. She will be forever loved and treasured by her children Wendy, Tim (Cathy), Randy (Rhonda), Greg (Marion), and Nial (Ines), grandchildren Rebecca (Alan), Blair (Tammy), Jenn (Tom), Rob (Laura), Joanna, James, Chris, Kristin, Andrew, Randi-Lee, Mandy (Adam), Adam, Tiler, Cortni, and Ashli, and her great-grandchildren Owen, Sophia, Tamia, Tiana, Madeline, Mason, Molly, Lilly, Charlotte, Harriet, and Jesse. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge) on Thursday, October 19th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Barthel Funeral Home. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer and Dementia Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Kids Help Phone.
