It is with great sadness that we announce Bob’s sudden passing on Thursday, August 22nd, 2013 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Beloved husband to Mary Agnes for 45 years. Cherished father of Julia Anne (David) and devoted Grandpa to Katrina. He is survived by his sister Sonja Degraaf (Holland). Uncle Bob will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Johannes and Tosina Rust (Holland), his brother Jan (Holland) and sisters Toni (Holland) and Jolka (Spain).

Bob came to Canada in 1956 from Holland to forge a better life and that’s exactly what he did! He worked as a transport truck driver for the Leaver Mushroom Company for 35 years.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, August 26th at the BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge (519-653-3251) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, August 27th at ST. CLEMENT’S CHURCH, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
