

After a valiant struggle with kidney disease, Ruby died peacefully in the loving arms of her family in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Franklin Kesselring. Sister-in-law of Gerald Kesselring. Dearest mother of Denise & Peter Marzo of Guelph, Kim & John Rutherford of Cambridge and Ken & Julie Kesselring of Cambridge. Cherished grandmother to Kirsten & Daniel McMaster, Kourtney & Matthew Borghese, Tony & Sachi Marzo, Kelly & Michael Switzer, Jane & Nathan Baker, Rachael & Luke Kesselring. Loving great grandmother of Zen, Rhoan, Locke, Dominica, Makai, Daiya, Owen, Aiden, Grace, Lily and Lincoln. Ruby was the eldest daughter of the late William and Elfreida Witt. She is predeceased by her brother William(Sharon) Witt. Loving sister of Gordon(Jean) Witt, Harold(Verna) Witt, Ronald(Lynn) Witt, Marlene(George) Wakutz. Special friend to the late June Hoshoian. Ruby began her working career at a young age at Bell Canada. After marrying and raising her family, she rejoined the work force at Consumers Distributing and then Office Manager of Case Power and Equipment before retiring at 60. Then the fun began and she enjoyed travelling to Florida each winter with her good friend June. After a tragic accident, Ruby battled for her life and won. After many months of rehabilitation she regained her strength and learned to walk again. Ruby was a pillar of strength and overcame many adversities with her strong Christian faith. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Cambridge. Her church family was very important to her, especially Pastor Heidi. She was a volunteer at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for 20 years. Special thanks to Dr. Tom Liu, Grand River Hospital Renal and Dialysis Units, ICU nurses and staff for their support and kindness. Cremation has taken place, Family and friends can celebrate Ruby’s life with visitation at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Ontario N3H 3J8(519-653-3251) on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 7-9pm. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 810 King Street, East, Cambridge, Ontario on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11am. Visitation at church one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
