Passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Alfred Thomas Duncan (2006). Dear mother of Linda (Henry) Kurki, David (Sharon) and Thomas (Tara) Duncan. Lovingly remembered by four granddaughters, Sarah, Andrea, and Veronica Duncan, and Elysia (Paul) Schneider. Survived by one sister, Elaine Mertz of Cambridge. Claire was born in Preston and was a lifelong resident of Cambridge. The family will receive friends at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Thursday, September 28th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the Parklawn Cemetery Chapel, 750 Fountain St. N, Cambridge on Friday, September 29th at 11:00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
She was a gentle soul.
