She will be remembered for her readiness to laugh, her kindness and gentle good nature.
Along with her mild manners, Renie was open-minded and curious with a taste for adventure.
She joined the army at the age of 18 during WWII and served in Canada as a wireless operator,
which is how she met Ross Montgomery, her late husband of 45 years. With him, she would move to New Brunswick, have four children and travel the world, even living for two years in Honduras. She also worked for many years as Administrative Assistant at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, and was an outdoor enthusiast, golfer, skiier, bridge-player and birdwatcher.
Words cannot express the family's gratitude for the kindness and compassion provided by those
who cared for her in her final days: Carolyn, Arlene, Doris, Bonnie, Carol Jean and Diane as
well as the staff at Assisted Living, including Jamie, Nicole, Billy, Joanne and Audrey. Special
thanks as well to Dr. Yacoub and her nurse Stephanie.
She leaves three other children: Stephen (Patsy Levesque),
Michael (Cynthia) and Jean (Allan Falle), as well as ten grandchildren: Stacey Clark (Derek),
Dia (Matt Sciame), Natalie (Jeff Jardine), Angelica (Brian Garneau), Susan, Maria, Rebecca
Sorbara (Joe), Gina Lawson (Matt), Kim Williams (William) and Lilly Carreiro (John). She also
leaves 16 great-grandchildren. Her death was preceded by that of her husband Ross, her son John (Theresa Montgomery), and her brother John, aka Jack.
Her memory and spirit will live on in all of them.
There will be no service as per her request.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
