James William Cantwell

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 21, 2010 at the age of 82, Mr. James William Cantwell of Campbellton. Born in Campbellton on May 23, 1928, he was the son of the late James W. Cantwell and the late Marguerite Helen Shannon. He worked for Canada Post for 32 years. Jimmy was a devoted husband , loving father and adoring grandfather. He was known as a stellar musician who provided a lifetime of entertainment to those closest to him. He also loved skating and walking.

He leaves to mourn his wife Jeannine Cool Cantwell, his daughter Carol Ann Cantwell Gallant (Roch) of Atholville, his son Michael Cantwell (Sari) of Dieppe. Also survived by his 2 grandchildren Sophie Gallant and Jean-Robert Gallant, many nieces and nephews as well as a brother in law, Jean Cool and sister in law, Jacqueline Colette. Predeceased by his sisters Eileen Cantwell Poitras and Gertrude Cantwell Morin, one brother M. J. Wallace Cantwell, and his parents.

The funeral mass was held from St. Thomas Aquinas Church Campbellton on Thursday November 25th at 11am. Father Bill Arseneault officiating. Interment at the Parish Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Est décédé à l’hôpital régional de Campbellton, 21 novembre 2010 à l’âge de 82 ans, Monsieur James William Cantwell de Campbellton. Né à Campbellton le 23 mai 1928, il était le fils de feu James W. Cantwell et de feue Marguerite Helen Shannon. Il avait travaillé pour Poste Canada pendant 32 ans. Jimmy a été un époux dévoué, père aimant et grand-papa gâteau. Il était surtout connu comme musicien qui a su animer la vie de ceux qui l`entoure. Il aimait prendre ses marches et patiner.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Jeannine Cool Cantwell, sa fille Carol Ann Cantwell Gallant (Roch) d’Atholville, son fils Michael Cantwell (Sari) de Dieppe, ainsi que 2 petits-enfants Sophie Gallant et Jean-Robert Gallant, plusieurs nièces et neveux, ainsi qu`un beau frère, Jean Cool et une belle sœur, Jacqueline Colette. Prédécédé par 2 sœurs Eileen Cantwell Poitras et Gertrude Cantwell Morin, un frère M. J. Wallace Cantwell, et ses parents.

Visite au salon funéraire Maher, 33 rue Lansdowne Campbellton, mercredi de 19h00 à 21h00 et jeudi à l’Église une heure avant le service.

Les funérailles auront lieu en l’Église St. Thomas d’Aquin Campbellton, jeudi le 25 novembre à 11h00.
