Lindsey passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 74, his children by his side.
He was born on March 16, 1952, in Saint John, NB, to the late Charles Searle and the late Lois Barton.
Lindsey spent many years working for both Brinks and Source Atlantic in Saint John before retiring in 2010. Not long after, he and Faith moved to Kedgwick River, where they built a quiet life together and welcomed family as often as they could. While there, he created many special memories with his dear friends Brian and Cheryl Bujold, and Jamie Sullivan who were always there for him, especially over the past five years. Whether it was late nights dancing, long card games, or time spent hunting and fishing on the Kedgwick River, those moments meant the world to him, and so did their friendship.
Those who knew Lindsey will remember his warmth and charm. He never held back a compliment, had a natural way of making people feel at home and could captivate a room with his many stories. “No problem” was a phrase he was known for, and he meant it—he was always ready to help. With a simple wink of his eye and genuine curiosity about others, Lindsey had the ability to connect deeply with people. He wore his heart on his sleeve, loved fully, and made sure his family knew it—often and without hesitation.
He was the biggest Elvis fan there ever was and could sing his songs like no one else. Visiting Graceland with Faith was a highlight for him. He was also a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan, cheering them on through the good seasons and the not-so-good ones.
Lindsey was incredibly proud of his children, Mark (Diana) and Lisa (Phil), and spoke of them with love every chance he had. His grandchildren, Arabella, Canyon, Avalon, Auria, Abby, and Owen, were truly the apples of his eye, and they adored him just as much. Time spent with them brought him his greatest joy.
He is also survived by his sisters Birdena (Robert), Lois Dawn (Pat), and Helen; his brothers Harry (Toni) and Peter (Dianne); his dearly loved sisters-in-law, Marion and Sally (Raymond); and his brother-in-law Baden (Barb) and several nieces and nephews.
Lindsey was predeceased by the love of his life, Faith Searle (Wyers), his sweetheart since the age of 15 and his wife of 49 years. Since her passing in 2021, not a day went by that he didn’t miss her. They are now, finally, reunited.
In lieu of an immediate service, a celebration of life and burial will take place in St Martins, New Brunswick, at a later date.
