Lucille Chiasson Chesser

Born in Bathurst, she worked there as a nurse then moved to Campbellton where she raised her family. She then shared her passion for nursing by teaching the LPN course at CCNB in Campbellton, until her retirement.

She continued to share her knowledge and love by volunteering at the Moncton City Hospital as well as with the ELF program to help children learning to read. Her interests included walking, reading and singing in the choir.

Though she loved her work, she enjoyed her family and friends even more.

She was predeceased by her true love, William "Bill" Chesser, her father Gerald “Hawk” (Chiasson) and mother Maria (Oakes) Chiasson. She leaves to mourn two daughters, Tracey (Peter Murphy), Tammy (Jason O’Connor), 3 siblings, Paul Chiasson, Geraldine Grennan and Jeannine Morais along with her cherished grand-children, Mackenzie, William, Liam and Darryl and many other family members and friends. Lucille wished a special thanks to her angel, Dr. Marie-Josee Allard, Dr Mark Taylor and team, Dr. Amy Brennan, the Oncology department at the Moncton Hospital and Dr. Pam Mansfield and the palliative care department who allowed her to pass with grace and dignity.

Though she was taken too soon, she lived a full life and touched many of us with her sincerity, her love and her never ending optimism. She had a fierceness to live and spent her last days expressing her appreciation for all that she had experienced and the great people that had shared her journey. Your determination and faith allowed you to conquer this illness Mom because though it took your body, it never tainted your beautiful spirit. This light that she was shines on in those fortunate enough to have been on her path.

A memorial service will be held in Campbellton on Tuesday, October 18th at 11h, at Maher's Funeral Chapel.

Donations can be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
