Nora Larocque

Nora was born on March 4, 1934, in Campbellton, NB. to a family of 16 children, to Frank and Elizabeth Boudreau.

She will be greatly missed by her 8 children- Sterling Hamilton (Linda) C’ton, NB, Suzan Duguay (Donald), Campbellton, NB, Sally Bolton (Mike), Campbellton, NB, Aubrey Hamilton (Nicole), Balmoral, NB, Billy Hamilton (Linda) Edmondon, Alberta, Blake Hamilton (Lisa) Glen Levit, NB, Peter Larocque (Patty) Campbellton, NB and Perry Larocque (Valerie) Campbellton, NB. Nora was predeceased by her husband Gordon Hamilton, and Lawrence Larocque. She also leaves 21 beloved grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Family was the heart of everything Nora did and she was always proud of her family and especially enjoyed many family gatherings over the years. Nora spent many of her early years working at the Restigouche hospital as ward charge and then opened and operated a private mental health residential home for several years. She was an active volunteer of her community, having dedicated many hours of her time to St. Thomas Aquinas in assisting with functions and also teaching catechism.

Nora also enjoyed her time doing many crafts in which she showed outstanding natural ability and creativity, such as making her beautiful porcelain dolls, teddy bears, tole painting and knitting. She also enjoyed gardening and the company of friends playing cards. It was also of great pride to herself, her family that she received ‘citizen of the year award’ for her dedication to making her community a better place for all.

So, Nora for all that you knew and loved, you may now rest in peace and know you will forever be remembered in our hearts.

A memorial service for Nora will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church on March 23 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society can be made in her memory.
