

Reginald was born on February 15, 1952 in Dalhousie, NB to the late Wilfred Basque and the late Bridget McCormick.
Reg’s passion was the preparation and presentation of food. Reg was a Cordon Bleu trained Chef, having won certifications in Cuisine Elementaire, Cuisine Intermediaire and Patisserie Elementaire. He was the Executive Chef for Air Canada (Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport in Montreal) before he retired. He was also the Executive Chef at both the Museum of Civilization and War Museum in Ottawa prior. Reg was acknowledged by Buckingham Palace, UK, for having served Princess Anne and her entourage while she visited Ottawa.
Besides his wife Frances, he is survived by his son Nicholas Basque and partner Sarah Perreault (Ottawa) , his step daughter Sherry Blake(Calgary) and his 3 cats Maggie, Mollie and Max. He is also survived by his sisters Dorothy Leslie, Shirley Ouellette, Franceen Pozo, Francine Basque and his brother Ron Basque. He is lovingly remembered by his extended family. Besides his parents Bridget and Wilfred, he was predeceased by brothers Lloyd, Lomar, Leonard, Edward and sister Eileen.
A Graveside Service for Reginald will be held at the St. John Bosco Cemetery in Dalhousie on Tuesday September 16, 2025 at 2 p.m.
