Richard Mercier

Richard est né le 25 septembre 1947 à Campbellton, NB de feu Raoul Mercier et de feu Mary Williamson.

Outre son épouse Lorraine, il laisse dans le deuil son frère cadet Jules, ses enfants Daniel (Wanda) et Michèle, ses petits-enfants ; Jake, Hunter, André et Jessica. Ses arrière-petits-enfants Justin et Rosalie.

Ses sœurs Lorraine et Céline l'ont précédé dans la mort.

L'année où Richard a pris sa retraite de NB Housing, il a perdu l'usage de ses deux reins et a été sous dialyse pendant près de 13 ans. Richard adorait pêcher et on pouvait toujours le trouver sur la magnifique rivière Restigouche ou en train d'encourager les parties de hockey des Tigres locaux.

Les funérailles de Richard auront lieu le jeudi 28 décembre 2023 à 14 h à l'église Notre-Dame-des-Neiges de Campbellton.

Pour ceux qui le désirent, au lieu de fleurs, un don à la mémoire de Richard peut être fait à la Fondation canadienne du rein.

Passed away at his residence on December 18, 2023 at the age of 76, Mr. Richard Mercier of Campbellton, husband of Lorraine (Savoie) Mercier.

Richard was born on September 25, 1947 in Campbellton, NB to the late Raoul Mercier and the late Mary Williamson.

Besides his wife Lorraine, he is survived by his younger brother Jules, his children Daniel (Wanda) and Michèle, his grandchildren; Jake, Hunter, André and Jessica. His great grandchildren Justin and Rosalie.

He was predeceased by his loving sisters Lorraine and Céline.

The year after Richard retired from NB Housing he lost the use of both his kidneys and was on dialysis for almost 13 years. Richard loved to fish and you could always find him on the beautiful Restigouche River or cheering at the local Tigers hockey games.

A funeral mass for Richard will be held on Thursday December 28th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Our-Lady-of-Snow's in Campbellton.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers a donation in Richard’s memory can be made to the The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
