

Anna Eleanor Buck was born March 15, 1933 in Morehead City, North Carolina. She graduated from Naples High School in Florida, and married Billy Ray Buckingham on September 2, 1949 at Webb Memorial Presbyterian Church in Morehead City, North Carolina while he was serving in the U. S. Marines Corps. They had one son, Jerry Ray Buckingham, in 1952.
The family spent time in Paducah, Kentucky where Anna attended nursing school before moving to Carrollton, Texas. She assisted her husband in helping build Northside Baptist Church in Carrollton, Texas, where he served as pastor from 1955-1958 and 1967-1983 with time spent in Paducah, Kentucky between stints in Carrollton. While serving as a Pastor’s wife, she worked as a floral designer at Shaw Florist in Carrollton. The couple divorced in 1983 and she returned to Naples, Florida in 1986 where she worked as an estate manager, supervising and managing operations of grounds, buildings, house staff and groundskeepers, and childcare until her retirement in 2017. In 1995, she married Carroll K. Walker in Naples where they lived happily until his death in 2009. She returned to Carrollton, Texas to be with family in 2019.
She is survived by her son Jerry Buckingham, daughter-in-law Cheri Anderson Howard Buckingham; grandchildren Stacy Howard, Steven Howard, Kelli Lewis and husband Alan; and great grandchildren Rayli Lewis, Zane Howard, Zachary Howard, and Kellan Lewis.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents John Hardy and Maggie Mae Adams Buck; husbands Billy R. Buckingham and Carroll K. Walker; siblings Edna Davis, Mary Sparks, and John Vedera “JV” Buck.
