

Chuck Coxon passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, September 17, 2021. Chuck was married for 57 years to his love, Daisy Coxon. He was born in Sedalia, MO, went to Central Missouri State University and received a master’s degree in administration from the University of Missouri. His life’s work was in education and school administration. He taught in Overland Park, KS, the Dallas Independent School District and for the Department of Defense Education Activity, serving in Fort Buchanan and Ramey Airforce Base in Puerto Rico. The couple have had a love for traveling and have visited the world extensively.
Chuck and Daisy, guided by their Catholic faith have served the Church and related lay apostolates for over 50 years. For twenty years, the couple served as team leaders in Marriage Encounter, a marriage enrichment program. They were the national and international directors for Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and South America. They also served in a number of ministries in their local parishes and with the Christian Community of God’s Delight in Dallas. They have served as leaders of the Young Adults, Youth Ministry, taught pre-marriage, baptism, and the Right of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
Chuck was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and served in various leadership positions. Chuck and Daisy also became an advocate and benefactor of Food For The Poor, an ecumenical Christian nonprofit organization that provides food, medicine, and shelter, among other services, to the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean. With FFTP, they went on several mission trips and helped to build homes and feed the poor in Haiti and Central America.
Chuck fought cancer for eight years. He saw his suffering as an opportunity to share his faith and witness to others with a positive attitude and hope. Chuck is survived by his wife, Daisy, his three children, Chris, Sean, and Cindy, their spouses, Virna, Katiria and Derek, and seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Christian, Javier, Ian, Mikey, Trinity and Shea.
