Clarence House was born in Mart, TX to Clarence J. and Della Crawford House. He was the second of three children and spent most of his youth assisting the family in the family owned café.
He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and was stationed in Presque Isle, Maine and received an Honorable Discharge.
After the service, he moved back to Texas and took various jobs and met the love of his life, Anna Ripper, in Wink, TX. He and Anna wed in 1952 and moved to Odessa, TX. Clarence attended Odessa Junior College for two years and transferred to Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX.
He graduated with a degree in accounting in 1957.
He and Anna had three children, all born in Lubbock.
In 1967 he took a job with the Department of Defense and moved his family to Plano, TX where he resided until 2014.
He was heavily involved in youth sports and was one of the original founders of Plano Sports Authority. His favorite past time was being involved with the Colt League of Plano Sports Authority.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty years, Anna Ripper House, one sister, Mary Felty of Garland, TX, and his first-born son, Jeffrey A. House. He was also preceded in death by his best friend, Johnny Ripper of New Mexico.
He is survived by his sister, Jackie David of Granbury, TX, his son Doug House and wife Gail of Wylie, TX, a daughter, Amy Casey and husband Lee Casey of Moody, TX. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Plano Mutual Cemetery in Plano, TX.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that you make a donation to your favorite charity. Clarence’s favorites were the Visiting Nurses Association and the American Cancer Society.
