Delores Ann Christopher

Delores Ann Christopher (Chevis) aka Dee, age 79, of Frisco, TX, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on January 11, 2025.

Dee was born in Opelousas, LA on September 2, 1945, to Austin and Merla Mae Chevis. She was raised in Beaumont, TX and graduated Valedictorian of the Class of 1962 at Blessed Sacrament High School which was all female at the time. She continued her education in Beaumont at Lamar University graduating in the Class of 1966 with a BA, Elementary Education degree. Dee was married to Parnell A. Christopher aka Chris, who predeceased her in 2004, on July 29, 1966. This loving union produced one daughter, Joy A. Williams in 1970.

Dee worked as a Human Resources professional for IBM for 20+ years and continued her career working for Jefferson County, TX until her retirement in 2005. During her working years, the family moved for new job assignments and resided in Minnesota, Georgia, Arizona, California, New York, North Carolina and Texas. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, cooking shopping, traveling and supporting the Catholic church. She lived the last 20 years of her life in Frisco, TX sharing a loving home with her daughter Joy and her family.

Dee is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, father Joseph Simon, sister Patricia A. Grey, nephew Kenneth L. Sampson.

Dee is survived by her daughter Joy, son-in-law Kevin S. Williams, grandchildren Kevin S. Williams Jr. and his fiancé Amanda Altieri and Justice C. Williams and his wife Natalia, brother Charles A. Chevis and his wife Delores, sister Geraldine Simon, brother Charles Simon, niece Adrienne Thomas, nephew Austin Chevis and his wife Rhonda, niece Charlaine Simon Miles and her husband Victor, nephew Robert Lemelle and his wife Candace, great niece Taylor Thomas, great nephews Aidan Chevis, Chase Chevis and Cruz Chevis, the family dog Koba Williams and a long list of extended family, friends and associates.

Services for Dee will take place in Beaumont, TX and will be shared once they are finalized.
