John was a devoted husband and father, as well as an accomplished business owner in Carrollton. In the 40's he and his mother Vera built the Plaza theatre on the square in downtown Carrollton, John and his wife Mary operated the theatre until 1994 providing entertainment to thousand of people over the years.
John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mary Lowrey, his daughter and son in law Meridith and Andy Irwin, his grand daughter and her husband Aubrey and Chris Holt, his great grand children Peyton and Madelyn Holt, and his sister in law Betty Lincecum.
Visitation will be at Metrocrest Funeral Home in Carrollton from 4 to 6pm on Sunday January 10th and the burial will be Monday January 11th at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas at 11 am.
