Nancy Jo Davidson, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 5th, in Carrollton, Texas. Born in Sterling, Colorado, Nancy lived a life rooted in kindness, strength, and perseverance—and at times, with a dash of spicy.
Throughout her life, Nancy called many places home. She spent her early years in Sidney, Nebraska, later moving to Las Cruces, New Mexico, and eventually El Paso, Texas, where she started her family. It was in El Paso that she discovered a passion for bowling, a sport she came to enjoy for many years, sharing spirited games with friends and family.
For over 50 years, Nancy resided in Carrollton, Texas, where she found a lasting sense of community and where she enjoyed raising her son. Her presence in Carrollton left a gentle but unmistakable imprint on those who knew her.
Nancy was known for her generous heart, sharp wit, and a personality that could be gentle one moment and refreshingly candid the next. She spent 30 years working as a medical administrative assistant, serving patients and colleagues with warmth, competence, and professionalism. After her long and devoted career, Nancy made the loving choice to retire and care full-time for her ailing mother—an act that embodied the deep sense of duty and compassion that defined her.
She was also an avid sports fan, cheering passionately for her son’s many extracurricular activities, her Nebraska Cornhuskers, her beloved Denver Broncos, and—above all—her favorite NASCAR driver, Chase Elliott. Whether watching a close game or a heart-pounding race, Nancy’s enthusiasm was as lively as her commentary.
She is survived by her only child and beloved son, Brad Lee Davidson and Sharon Davidson of Fort Worth, Texas, whose love and care were felt deeply in Nancy’s life; by her sister, niece, and nephew in the Sidney and Omaha, Nebraska area; her grandchildren in the Dallas, Texas area; as well as dear friends and neighbors who meant so much to her. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Bernard Stibley and Rose Hegenreter Stibley, as well as her younger brother, Joseph Stibley Jr. of Sidney Nebraska.
At Nancy’s request, her ashes will be scattered in the beautiful and breathtaking Rocky Mountains—a place she so adored and forever considered home.
For all those who loved her, stood by her in her wellness and in her times of need, her son Brad extends his deepest and most unyielding gratitude. Your care, kindness, and presence meant the world.
She loved you very much.
Her memory lives on in the stories she shared, the laughter she sparked, and the spice she added to every life she touched.
