

Philippe (Phil) Beaubien, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014, in Sherman, TX. Phil was born April 1, 1933, in Garden City, KS, to the late Mosstella and Phil Beaubien. He was married to Marilyn Richardson Beaubien for 56 years who preceded him in death on September 17, 2014. Phil is survived by his daughter, Michelle Saye, of Whitesboro; son, Rick Beaubien and wife Patty of Kingwood; grandchildren Christine Saye Place and husband Casey, Chad Saye, and Victoria Beaubien; his sister, Denise Klinger and husband Tom of Denver, CO; nieces, Amy and Melissa, and nephew, Phillip. He also leaves numerous relatives in Canada. Phil graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1955 with a degree in Business Administration and was involved in ROTC. He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force and received his wings as a jet fighter pilot in 1957. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, he moved to Dallas to work as a claims adjuster. Shortly after moving to Dallas, he met and married Marilyn on December 21, 1958. He later attended SMU Law School and briefly practiced law; however, he eventually returned to the claims area of the insurance industry where he became vice president of claims for an insurance company until a heart attack and stroke forced him to retire in 1986. Phil and Marilyn loved entertaining their friends at their home in Farmers Branch and especially enjoyed hosting pool parties in the summers. He loved adventure and travel – he and Marilyn traveled extensively to the Caribbean, Europe, and Russia, and especially loved cruises. Phil also loved going out to eat, going to the show, and buying Marilyn jewelry. Phil loved his grandchildren and spent many hours cooking and entertaining for them. Graveside visitation will be at 11:30 am at Restland Cemetery in the Garden of Wisdom off of the south side of Restland Road on Saturday, November 15, 2014. There will be a graveside service following at 12 noon with Reverend Terry McLellan officiating. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dallas Chapter of the American Heart Association, the Lupus Foundation, or a church of their choice.
