Phillip Willard Hummer
15 marzo , 1941 – 13 octubre , 2020
Phillip Willard Hummer was born on March 15, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late Orville Hummer and Virginia Hummer. Phillip passed away on October 13, 2020 in Baylor Hospital, in Plano Texas from a short illness, with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Ruby Gay Hummer and their three children: Tina Klenzing, Tracy Caylor and David Hummer; six grandchildren: Ricky Ramirez, Sean Klenzing, Zack Klenzing, Matthew Hummer, Donavan Hummer and Anthony Hummer; two great grandchildren: Dylan and Kevyn; brother in-law and sister-in-law Buddy and Tammy Mills; one sister: Sandra Roe; and three nephews: Wondell Hayton, T.H. Hayton and Scott Hayton.
Phillip was a wonderful husband and father and grandfather. He was such a good soul and he was the kindest person you would have the chance to meet. He was a very caring man and his family meant everything to him. He was a person that loved life and he enjoyed everything that he did in life.
He attended/graduated Cambridge High School and worked in the wholesale industry until moving to Orlando FL. where he worked at Walt Disney World and later in retail.
Phillip and his wife moved to Carrollton, TX after retirement and lived with their daughter Tracy and her husband, Tom Caylor until his passing.
He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Murray during his military career and received a Honorable Discharge after serving his country.
One of Phillip’s passion he truly enjoyed doing was decorating for Christmas. He was so creative and talented. Every year it became more magical and breathtaking. He would make so many decorations to add to his collection each year. He would put up the tree and it was so beautiful and the villages / garden that he would create was so magical, he decorated the whole house inside and out. It brought him a lot of joy. He would also make decorations for his friends and family to add to their collection (another family tradition).
Phillip was a kind person and was loved by all that was lucky to have met him. He will truly be missed. He was so loved and he is walking with the Angels now.

We miss you so much every day. This has been a truly big loss! You are walking with the Angels now. You were a great father to all of us and we had a lot of great memories growing up. All of the family activities we did, playing sports up at the park as a family, going to the beach, Walt Disney World, hanging around the house and cooking, all of the family gatherings. I remember you playing horse shoes and you were so good at it. I remember us watching John Wayne movies, musicals and Elvis movies and so many more things. You and mom would take all of the grandkids on vacation with you to show them new experiences. You guys always made time for family. You and mom lived for one another for 54 years and showed us kids what a marriage should be like. Respect for one another and to be kind, always work together through anything. We never wanted for anything and we all were happy! Every year you and mom would come and stay a week with Tom and I for vacation, we would squeeze everything we could into that week. Up early and out late going everywhere. We had a lot of fun and we would joke about how keeping up with you guys was hard Every year at Christmas I would decorate and send you pictures so you could see how I did each year since that was such a passion of yours. That was just one of the many things we shared and I am very grateful for that. You were kind to everyone you met. Funny, no matter where you guys went you made friends, whether it was out to eat or just shopping. People just gravitated towards you. Tom and I enjoyed having you and mom come live with us when you retired. We did so many things while you guys lived with us, going places, just spending time. We went all out last year for Christmas inside and out it was beautiful. We had a lot of fun! I am so glad that you lived with us because we got to have 1 ½ years with you before you left us. We love and miss you every day and no matter how much time goes by that will never change

We can still remember how proud he was to show his Christmas Village to anyone who came to visit... he must have spent hours upon hours placing them all in the right places... it was so beautiful...Phillip was easy going and loved his Family... His face would light up whenever he spoke about them... he had the greatest of smiles... it always made you happy while talking with him... his calmness and sincerity in listening to what ever you had to say... Rest In Peace.. you now are embraced in Gods arms❤️🌹
