Stephen “Steve” Luke Mannion, of Coppell, TX, passed away on June 27 at 62 years of age. He was a loving husband to Lynn (Walters) Mannion with whom he shared 18 years of marriage, full of love and laughter.
Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Bayside, NY before moving to Houston, TX. Steve was the beloved son of the late Peter and Geraldine (Pisklak) Mannion; and stepson to Bonnie Mannion (Woburn, MA). He attended Mater Christie Catholic High School before moving to Houston and graduated from Stratford High School in 1981; then received his bachelor’s degree in business from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1985.
In addition to his cherished wife, Lynn, Steve is survived by his son Luke Mannion and his wife Bethany of Greensboro, NC and their children, Kinsley, Stetson and Lucy. Steve was the loving brother to Peter Mannion of New York City; Julie Rigazio and husband Jim of Andover, MA; and Tom Mannion and wife Stephanie of Melrose, MA. He was the beloved uncle to Sarah Rigazio, Ryan Rigazio, Katie Mannion and Tara Mannion, and a caring stepfather to Calley Krull.
Steve was loved and will be greatly missed by his family in law Linda Walters of Wilson, OK, Lee & Sharon Walters of Belton, TX and their sons Christian and Max.
Steve was a man of great faith where family and friendships were everything to him. He was a big guy with an equally big personality, and an even bigger heart. Always a gentleman, Steve “never met a stranger” as he could strike up a conversation with anyone, and talk about anything, from the Beatles to the Cowboys, politics to pop culture. Steve was often the first to offer help to a friend in need, send a little note, or flowers to brighten someone’s day. Those who knew Steve will miss his big heart, quick wit, corny sense of humor and daily memes.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held next spring around his birthday in May 2026 – details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
