

Thomas David Solis was born to Hilario J. and Leocadia Solis on December 12, 1943, while residing in Electra, Texas =. He grew up with seven sisters and six brothers: Benjamin, Sara, Martha, Daniel, Lydia, George, Raquel, Ruth, Mary, John, Naomi, Ruben, and Sam. Currently the Solis Family has grown to approximately 200 Members.
Tom attended Waxahachie High School and will be remembered as the Mascot for the Waxahachie Indians. Tom was very likeable and loved by his fellow classmates. He was a good student and a good athlete as well. He enjoyed reading and telling stories. After Tom graduated from Waxahachie High school in 1964 he went into the United States Army where proudly served his county. He fought in the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge. We are grateful for his service.
On August 30, 1985 Tom married his wife Elba and established their home in Carrollton, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Renee Solis who lives in Dallas, Son Tommy Solis and Stepson Will Norast both of Carrollton. Tom had One Granddaughter Caitlyn Bednar and One Grandson Christopher Bednar. Tom was very proud of his two great grandchildren Bria C. Bednar-age 5 and Riley Noah Bednar-age 5.
Tom retired from the Carrollton-Framers Branch School District where he worked in the distribution center for several years. During that time, he also called ball games in the Community and in the Dallas area as an Umpire at softball games and referee at basketball games.
Tom was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Carrollton where he served God as a bus driver , Sunday School teacher , choir, and in various other ways until he became Ill a few years ago. He will be remembered as a very generous individual who cared about people and helped many families.
Tom David Solis was loved by his family and friends. He will be missed. We are grateful to God for the many years He allowed him to He allowed him to live here with us.
