FLORENCE - Andrew Edward "Andy" Lopez, 88, of Florence died on Nov. 11, 2017, at home.Mr. Lopez was born on Nov. 8, 1929, in Florence to Miguel and Rosalia (Jose) Lopez. A very private man, he graduated from Coolidge High School in 1949 in a class of 41. He attended college for a year, then joined the Air Force and served from 1951 to 1955. He was stationed at RAF Burtonwood, England, and Paine AFB, Washington.He later enrolled at Woodbury's Business College and received a bachelor's degree in business administration. In 1971 he took the Dale Carnegie Course in Effective Speaking and Human Relations and earned a certificate. He was a bookkeeper for Kelly Services. His hobbies were collecting coins and taking pictures of his cats.He is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Anita (Lopez) Antone, Lillian and Agnes Lopez, and three brothers, Gilman, Leonard and Anthony Lopez.Wake beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Mission in Florence Tohono O'odham Village. Funeral Mass celebrated at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. Burial in Florence Cemetery.J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel in charge of arrangements.
