Mr. Alvarez was born on May 20, 1952, in Madera, California. He later lived in Stanfield.
Survivors include two adult children, Benito Alvarez Jr. of Stanfield and Rosario Alvarez of Arizona City; three siblings, Rosa Tarango of Tucson, Cruz Alvarez of Maricopa and Sophia Gillenwater of Coolidge; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia T.; two brothers, Kelly Alvarez and Jose Juan Alvarez; and two sisters, Eva Esparza and Mercedes Alvarez.
Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. and funeral at 9:30 on Saturday, Feb. 11, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande.
