Betsy led a fulfilling life as a military wife, experiencing various places throughout her journey. She held a profound love for God and actively participated in the Blackwater Presbyterian Church where she lent her voice to the choir. Betsy had a strong sense of advocacy for her land and beliefs; known for her unwavering determination as the word 'no' never hindered her pursuits. Her elegance and well-groomed demeanor remained constant throughout her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sonya Bates, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
A wake in remembrance of Betsy will be hosted on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 6 pm to 10 pm at the District One Service Center in Blackwater. Following this, the graveside services will take place the next morning at 6 am at North Blackwater Cemetery.
The arrangements are being handled by J. Warren Funeral Services at Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel.
