Carolyn Joyce Oakley, 74, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 14, 2014, at Hospice of the Valley Friendship Village in Tempe.Mrs. Oakley was born on Oct. 7, 1939, in Clinton, Ill. She married Richard A. Oakley on Oct. 12, 1957, in Farmer City, Ill., where they raised five children. She greatly enjoyed her job as a computer operations supervisor for Growmark Inc. in Bloomington, Ill., before retiring in 1995 after 25 years of service.After traveling the country in their RV, the couple settled in Casa Grande. She enjoyed sewing, baking and trying new restaurants. Her passion was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Having lost several family members to cancer, she was very supportive of the American Cancer Society.Survivors include her husband of 56 years; Children, Marty (Tammi) Oakley, Cindy (Jim) Hanafin Misty Oakley, Rusty Oakley and Shelley (Brent) Chandler; Siblings, Judith (Lawrence) Hedrick Ben (Theresa) Baker and Richard Baker; Grandchildren, Jillian Hurt, Seth Oakley, Jaimee (Mark) Weidert, Jayce Hanafin, Andrew Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Grant Thompson Hannah Chandler and Alyssa Chandler; Great-grandchildren, Nico Scott, Makinlee Hurt, Oliver Weidert and Lucca Weidert.No service is planned.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.J.
