ELOY - Elena Mares Ysaguirre, 79, of Eloy died on Dec. 16, 2013, at home.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 9 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Alonzo Garcia. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.Mrs. Ysaguirre was born on Sept. 7, 1934, and was a daughter of Estanislao and Refugia Mares. She was a homemaker and loved to garden and listen to music. A devoted Catholic who loved to go to retreats, she also loved to read, sew, cook, eat ice cream, be with her family and pets, dance and sing.Survivors include her husband, Ramiro R.; a daughter, Angie Alvarez of Eloy; three sons, Ramiro Ysaguirre of Casa Grande, Ray and Pat Ysaguirre of Eloy; seven sisters, Blanca Cota, Grace Montoya, Ruth Santillan, Maria Pisano, Juanita Ibarra and Margarita Mares, all of Calexico, Calif., and Gloria Martinez of El Centro, Calif.; six brothers, Silverio, Estanislao, Lalo and Lupe Mares, all of Calexico, Jesse Mares of Imperial, Calif., and Enrique Mares of El Centro; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vicente Mares.J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
