

COOLIDGE - Jack J. Ovitt, 84, died on Jan. 14, 2019, in Casa Grande.Mr. Ovitt was born on Dec. 4, 1934, in Rugby, North Dakota. He lived there for 17 years before joining the military, then moved to Arizona and lived for 67 years, raising his family in Coolidge. He married Joy Sipes in Florence in February 1955. They were married for 36 years until her death in 1991. He married Donna in May 2000.He served in the Air Force from 1952 until 1955, was an airman first class and was stationed at Williams Air Force Base. He then worked as a civilian at the former base near Mesa for 33 years until retiring in 1988. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and sitting on his back patio sipping coffee. He also loved volunteering at his church, driving his old truck in the desert and above all spending time with his family and friends.Survivors include his wife, Donna; a daughter and two sons, Sheri Cluff, Mark and Todd Ovitt; two stepdaughters, Terri Kennedy and Karen Romines; six siblings, Charlotte Tuchscherer of Rugby, Doris Page of Bismarck, North Dakota, Marlene Ovitt of Minot, North Dakota, Barbara Willenbring of Bismarck, Janice Ovitt of Minot and Tom Ovitt of Mulvane, Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ovitt, and a grandson, Will Higginbotham.Visitation beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, at Coolidge Church of the Nazarene, with funeral at 10.
