James R Clark, born on August 16, 1938, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born in Dallas, TX to James William Clark and Ina Sue Elliott. He was the 5th born of 8 children and at the age of 1, his parents moved and settled in a little place they called Friendly Corner, AZ. There he found a 2nd family with the Tipton's, remaining close to them all until his passing.
Somewhere around age 11, he left his home and went traveling to Missouri and Oregon to find work. He would do anything and everything to make a living, learning different trades all along his traveling route. He came back after a few years just in time for his father to pass away when he was only 19 years old.
He worked for Koenig Aviation while he was raising a young family and then found the opportunity to buy a septic tank company. That began a life long career that he was still helping with at the end of his life. He was a self-taught jack of all trades; there wasn't much he couldn't do. He opened Clark's Septic Tank Service in November of 1963 and his memory will live on in our family as we continue forward with his legacy.
Jim is survived by sons, Billy Ray, Kenneth James, Dennis Dean, and James Roy II (Bunny); daughters, Ronda Stephens (Troy) and Melanie Parton (David); his 15 grandchildren and a ton of great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a daughter Belinda (1958); his parents; his siblings, Junior, Mary, Myrtle, Earl, Betty, Gary and an infant brother Billy.
We say farewell to a man, who in times of upheaval and challenge, demonstrated the courage and boldness to go his own way. Jim or Roy (whichever name you knew him by) was not only a successful businessman, but also a person with a strong personality and tenacity which served him well throughout his 63 years of being an entrepreneur.
A service will be held at Crossroads Church in Casa Grande on February 27th, 2026; 9:00 AM Viewing and 10:00 AM for services. Jim didn't know a stranger, so let's all come and honor him.
A burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with a reception that will be catered by Big House Café back at Crossroads Church. Arrangements made by J Warren Funeral Services Cole And Maud.
