Born in Victoria, TX.; he was the son of Isaac and Beulah Haynes. A WWII Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS South Dakota for 39 months. He moved to Arizona in 1953 and was a longtime cotton farmer. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church since 1963 and served as a deacon.
