AK-CHIN - Lawrence "Wally" Batopis Jr., 41, died on Nov. 16, 2015.Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ak-Chin Service Center, with a wake continuing until midnight. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Phoenix.Mr. Batopis was born on March 1, 1974, in Phoenix. He worked for Ak-Chin Farms for many years and was a foreman. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He was known for his hardworking nature and infectious smile, and his family was his true love.Survivors include his wife, Marcela; three daughters, Ana Mendez of Ahwatukee, Jessica and Lina Batopis of Ak-Chin; two sons, Lorenzo and Daniel Batopis of Ak-Chin; his mother, Teresa Ramirez of Maricopa; two sisters, Erica Ramirez of Maricopa and Melinda Velasquez of Ak-Chin; a brother, Efren Ramirez of Maricopa; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Batopis Sr.; a sister, Mary F. Ortega; and a brother, Ralph Batopis.J.
