Ramona Sanchez Tapia, 89, died peacefully on Sept. 5, 2015, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, followed by the funeral, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. A graveside service will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Mrs. Tapia was born on March 15, 1926, in Fabens, Texas, to Juan and Leonides O. Sanchez and was married to Conrad H. Tapia for 57 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother.She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Harry Tapia; and a daughter, Juanita Torres. Survivors include two daughters, Sofia Menchaca of Casa Grande and Suzanna Montano of Riverside, California; six sons, Conrad Jr., Bobby and Andy, all of Casa Grande, Raymond of Justin, Texas, Oscar of Riverside and Arthur of Avondale; five brothers, Tony of Phoenix, Sammy, Steven and Johnny, all of Riverside, and Pete of Chino Valley; nine sisters, Janie Rodriguez of Santa Maria, California, Mary Lou Sanchez of Riverside, Rosie Martinez of Phoenix, Frasia Williams and Trini Byrd of Springerville, Ruth Acosta of Fresno, California, Nellie Aguilar and Lupe Shimabukuro of Riverside and Francis Lebario of Santa Rosa, California; 36 grandchildren; and 71 great-grandchildren.
