

Terry Lee Conley, age 87, 11 months and 13 days of Arnold, Nebraska, went to be with his Lord and Saviour. March 31st 2026 in Gilbert, Arizona. Terry was born in Arnold, NE May 13, 1938. His parents were Constine (Tine) C. and Margaret Elizabeth (Root) Conley.
He attended elementary country school in Hoagland country, with his mother as his teacher, then attended High School in Gandy, Nebraska where he graduated May 1956. While in Highschool he received his Pilots License and was nominated to the Air Force Academy but failed the medical examination.
After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army 82nd Airborne in May 1956. “He made the remark that if he couldn’t fly - He would jump out of them.” He married his teenage sweetheart, Sharron Lee Flint at Stapleton, Nebraska, July 29th1956 and they were stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and daughter Kerri was born in 1958.
He served 3 years in the Army. After discharge, he was employed with various construction projects in Nebraska and Kansas. Sons, Mark and Rick completed their family. In 1969 Terry relisted in the US Navy Construction Battalion, Seabees, Port Hueneme California. He served in Vietnam, Taiwan and Sicily and state side duty retiring as a Sr. Chief Builder at Port Hueneme, California in May 1987. A rewarding career and he was proud to have served his country. He had a passion for ministry and faithfully served the Lord in his career and throughout his life. Terry received papers to preach from the Nebraska Assembly of God. Certified by the International Federal of Christian Chaplains along with working with Hospice Care in Casa Grande, Arizona. Terry was interim Pastor at the Port Hueneme Assembly of God for 15 months in California. He ministered at the Eloy Arizona Assembly of God and at the Baptist Church and Community Church in Gandy Nebraska. He had a sense of humor and was an encouragement to others.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tine and Margaret Conley and eldest son Mark Lee Conley and grandson, David Paul Driggers.
Terry is survived by his wife, Sharron of 70 years of marriage - daughter Kerri A. Varvel, (Ken) of Thornton TX and son Rick A. Conley (Shannon) of Paso Robles, CA and daughter-in-law Kelli Conley Fremont, NE. Ten Grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be at the Fort McPherson National Military Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska at a later date.
