Daniel Allen Scadlock

November 21, 1938 –January 17, 2026

Daniel Allen Scadlock 87 passed suddenly on 1/17/2026 Born on November 21, 1938, in Los

Angeles Ca. to William Scadlock and Merle Houle who preceded him in death.

Dan proudly served in the US Navy from 1955 through 1961. The last of his years was on the

USS Magoffin. His time on the USS Magoffin was his source of pride.

He retired after many years as a truck driver, a career that suited his independent spirit and

love for the open road. He loved to tell stories of his many adventures and life experiences.

He also had a special love for cats, who were always close to his heart. He loved music and

dancing and had many hobbies throughout his life.

Dan is survived by His brother Jay Houle of California, Ex wife Barbara Scadlock Vant.

His Children Dan Scadlock Jr., Brenda & Wayne Hanson, David & Barb Scadlock, Dennis &

Yvette Scadlock of Pe Ell where Dan lived for the remainder of his life. and son Micheal &

Rebecca Vant.

25 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his Father William Scadlock and Mother Merle Houle, and his

1st wife Bonnie Slaymaker.

Dan will be buried at sea by the navy as that was his wish. The family will have a private

ceremony for Dan later.

Dan will be remembered for his stories. his strength, and the life experiences he generously

shared with those around him.

His legacy lives on in his family and the many memories he leaves behind.
