Doris Jean Carey

Doris attended Chehalis schools, graduating in 1945 from Chehalis High School. She married James (Jim) Carey on July 22, 1950. They were married 67 years before his passing in 2017. Together, they raised their three daughters, Susan (Bill) Schoelkopf, Janet (Tom) Christin and Gayle (David) Isaacson.

Doris was a bookkeeper for their business Jim & George's Garage and a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church and made many friends through her church family. She enjoyed gardening, canning and loved their trips to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Mabel Unzelman and her brothers, Lloyd Unzelman and Glen (Bonnie) Unzelman.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Bill) Schoelkopf, Janet (Tom) Christin and Gayle (David) Isaacson; grandchildren, BJ (Kris) Schoelkopf, Kari (Wesley) Gamble, Jami (David) Soul, Holly (Mark) Chloupek, Dacia (Rolando) Christin, Eric (Mckenzie) Boyd, Jonathan (Ali) Isaacson and Bailey (Seth) Foster; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving her is sister-in-law, Donna Unzelman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

At her request, a private burial will take place.
