

George William Heck, age 94, of Chehalis, Washington passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022. He was born January 19, 1928 to Phillip and Florentina Heck. George grew up with six siblings, Raymond, Joseph, Regina, James, Eugene and Maria.
In 1949, he graduated from Bellarmine High School in Tacoma, Washington. George joined the United States Navy, serving four years and later the United States Marine Corp, earning rank of Sargent.
On December 17, 1951, George married Jeannine O’Brien in Tacoma, Washington. They spent 54 years together and had four sons, Thomas, David, Brien and Brodie and one daughter, Joanne.
Upon discharge from the Marine Corps, George worked for Boeing for several years. He went on to become a concrete and building contractor. George built and remodeled many homes and businesses throughout Lewis County. One project he especially took pride in was the construction of the huge cross overlooking the Degoede Farm in Mossyrock.
His hobbies included bowling in leagues and tournaments, trips to the beach, clam digging at Grayland, sport shooting and gardening (with one stipulation of one acre minimum!). He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 50 years and was a previous member of the American Legion. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Florentina Heck; wife, Jeannine Heck; son, Brien Heck; brothers, Raymond Heck, James Heck and Eugene Heck; sister, Regina Weisgerber; and grandson, Tim Heck.
Survivors include his brother, Joseph Heck; sister, Maria Simmons; sons, Thomas (Karen) Heck, David (Mary) Heck and Brodie (Melanie) Heck; daughter, Joanne Justice; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Heck; 20 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for George will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, 1437 South Gold, Centralia, Washington 98531. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 1437 South Gold, Central, Washington 98531. A military graveside service will occur Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Alpha Cemetery, 3363 Centralia Alpha Rd, Onalaska, WA 98570. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
