

Gerald “Jerry” F. Butcher Sr. passed away peacefully, on Wednesday September, 10, 2014 in Centralia, WA. Jerry was born to Fountain and Bonnie Butcher on July 17, 1939 in Onalaska, WA. After graduating Onalaska High School, Jerry served our country in the United States Navy and was stationed in the Philippines for 2 ½ years. Following the Navy Jerry worked as a Yarder Operator with Weyerhaeuser for 32 years, retiring in 1993. Jerry was involved in the Lewis County Murky Lurkers and was a search and rescue diver for the Lewis County Sheriff’s Dept.
Jerry enjoyed scuba diving, powered parachuting, cruises, yard and garden work, riding motorcycles, and activities with family and friends. Jerry also held a special place in his heart for his dog Rowdy.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Fountain and Bonnie Butcher and grandparents, Ralph and Ruth Laney and Daisy Lord.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Carol A. Butcher and sons Gerald F. Butcher Jr. and Jason E. Butcher; sister, Peggy Poe; brother, Gary Butcher; 4 grandchildren, Benjamin F. Butcher USN, Zachary Butcher, Ashley Butcher, Karysa Butcher; one great grandchild, Carter Edmonds; and 2 daughter in laws, Judy Godbey and Judy Butcher.
A Visitation for Gerald F. Butcher will be held from 11am-12pm on Monday, September 15, at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, Centralia, WA. A Graveside Service will follow at 1pm at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis. A reception is to follow at the Butchers home in Chehalis.
