

Glen William Barr went home to the Lord Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015. He was born July 8, 1933 to Kenneth and Ruby (Detering) Barr at the family homestead in the city of “Wildwood” (Boistfort), where he spent his childhood.
Glen attended Boistfort School. He then spent three years in the U.S. Army. Afterwards, he met the love of his life, Pauline Ratkie at the Plaquato Dance Hall. They married in April 1956 and had three sons, Paul Kenneth, Chris Allen and Glen William Jr. He worked at Goodyear Tires for many years, until he retired in 1977. He and Pauline
were farmers. They moved to the Boistfort Valley in 1969 and were dairy farmers until 1987. Upon retirement, they
enjoyed fishing in Seiku, Washington and being snow birds in Yuma, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pauline in 2009; parents; brothers, Herb, Jerry and Vern; and a sister, Lois.
He is survived by his sons, Paul (Janet) of Curtis, Chris (Anita) of Curtis, Bill (Tracy) of Chehalis; brother, Jim Barr; sister, Toni Carroll; grandchildren, Jamie Roundtree, Kristin Clark, Erin Peplinski, Sara Barr, Nathaniel Barr, Corene Pettit, Bradley Barr and Zachary Barr; greatgrandchildren, Mathew and Haley Roundtree, Kortnie, Samantha and Travis Clark, Emma and Rylee Peplinski, Easton and Parker Barr, Oliver and Charlie Pettit; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Doty-Dryad Cemetery in Doty. A potluck reception will follow the graveside at the Baw Faw Grange in Curtis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boistfort Lions, Boistfort PTO or Boistfort Firefighter Association.
