Josephine Mark, 94, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Sharon Care in Centralia, Washington. She was born in Rochester, New York on July 19th, 1921, to Charles and Theresa Mastrosimone. Josie came from a family of one brother and four sisters. Her parents were immigrants from Caltanissetta, Italy who came to live in the Bronx, via Ellis Island. Her father passed away when she was a teenager. All the children had to work from an early age. Josephine was always promoted to management, a result of her intelligence and work ethic. In 1950 she met and married Laurence Mark, and moved from N.Y. to be with her husband in Eugene, Oregon. They were married for 65 years and had one son, Paul. During her retirement years she became an accomplished painter, selling many of her paintings. A devout Catholic and devoted mother, she was always eager to offer a gentle hug and bits of wisdom. A truly kind and gentle woman, she will be missed. Heaven is now blessed with her presence. We love you Josie.
