Matt moved with his family to the Olympia, WA area when he was 6 where he attended local schools including Timberline High School. He later attended Bellevue Community College.
Matt got great solace from driving where he felt free. This led to his primary career in the Transportation industry where he founded Durbiano Transportation. He used his vocation to show grade school children what it was like “driving a big rig” by conducting tours.
Matt loved all animals. He and his special dog Kodie, went to hospitals as a way to provide some calmness and joy to young children.
Matt loved the outdoors especially taking fishing trips with his brother and good friend Brian. While living in Sierra Vista, AZ, Matt developed an interest in dry gold panning. He loved it so much that he produced a Youtube Video that literally went viral. Matt was also an avid fan of both the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners and would watch all games with his mom and dad.
Matt’s love for animals went beyond his attachment for his dogs and cats. It could be said that he was somewhat of a true “animal whisperer”. Deer and raccoons would come up to him and just sit and be at peace. He had names for all of them.
Matt is most remembered by his gentle ways and deep caring for family and friends, especially for those who had challenges with life. He created spirit that transcended those around him.
Matt is survived by his Mother Kathy, Father Mike, Niece Sydney, Grandfather Marcus and numerous loving cousins and friends. He is proceeded in death by his brother Michael IV.
