Patricia Louise Joner was born February 19, 1937 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Alice Beatrice Chandler and Lawrence George Chandler. She spent most of her younger days from North Dakota to Superior Wisconsin. The family moved out to the Northwest when Patricia was in the 5th grade. They primarily settled in Washougal, WA where Patricia graduated in 1955. She was very active in high school and she and her sister Corrine were cheerleaders. She met and married Robert Lee Joner on April 15, 1955. They had four children together. Gerald Robert, Mitchell Lawrence, Tamara Sue and Patrick Scott.
They spent most of their married lives in Clark County. Patricia was a homemaker and mother and loved every minute of it. She was a very good cook and an excellent baker. Her specialty was pie making. She made the best pies. Patricia also enjoyed sewing and could make any article of clothing she needed or wanted. She and Robert both enjoyed gambling and would travel to Reno every year to enjoy themselves and get a break from the four kids.
"Mom should have been an interior designer. She loved to paint and wallpaper all of our homes. I was her helper. I'm very good at trim. She'd do the walls and I always ended up doing the trim. Even to this day I'm the trimmer. My husband does the walls, and I do the trim." Tammy Fuller
Patricia so enjoyed second hand shopping that she eventually went into the second hand business with her high school friend Janet Lehman. They started in a small shop in Orchards and eventually moved the business to Vancouver. The two friends enjoyed every minute of it. Patricia was very creative and in her later years took painting classes and most grandchildren and her children all have quilts made by her.
In 1994 she and Robert moved the family to Lewis County to a small town called Doty, WA. Patricia loved to read, sometimes a book a day. She enjoyed the movies as well. She and her sister went to movies from the time they were very small. She always enjoyed a good movie. One of her favorites was "I Remember Momma" with Irene Dunn and Barbara Bell Geddes. She also was a huge fan of PBS, whether it be Masterpiece Theater or the Mystery episodes.
