Ronald Leonard “Ron” West, 58, of Chehalis, WA passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family that loved him on May 22, 2013. Ron was born on March 15, 1955 and lived in Kelso most of his adult life before moving to Chehalis where he has resided for the past 16 years.
Ron is survived by his wife Kathie “Kat” West, two daughters Julie Plowman (and husband Jeremy) and Jamie West, two grandchildren Parker Plowman (7) and Justice Anderson (22), two step-children Mike Oechsner and Trisha Oechsner, and three brothers Michael West (and wife Sylvia), Robert West, Jr. (and wife Elaine), and Paul West.
Ron was a devoted husband, incredible father and grandpa, and the best friend anyone could have. He cared greatly for the people in his life and would insist on lending a helping hand whenever he could. He was a motorcycle enthusiast that couldn’t wait to hit the road with his wife Kat on the back of his bike for their next amazing journey with great friends. Ron was not only passionate about the family and people he loved, but also the issues and causes that he believed in. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Army from 1973 to 1977.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Stand Up 2 Cancer in Ron’s memory. The family will have a private celebration of life this summer.
