

Vivian Victoria (Johnson) Norris was born on February 23, 1925, to Myrtle and Andrew Johnson in Chehalis, WA, and passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, June 11 after a long struggle with cancer. She attended Lucas Creek, Agate, R.E. Bennett and Chehalis High School graduating in 1942. She
married her childhood sweetheart, Joe Norris, on June 15, 1946, in Chehalis. Vickie was a member of many groups in the community including the Chehalis
United Methodist Church, the Logan Hill Grange, the Agate Orthopedic Auxiliary
to Seattle Children's Hospital, the Moose Lodge, and the Washington Farm Bureau. She worked for the CCC railway and became an egg and dairy farmer after marriage and later dabbled in real estate. She greatly enjoyed traveling and square dancing, farming throughout her life and especially enjoyed playing cribbage and pinochle these last few years. She was always positive, looked for
the best in people, and was known for her smile. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ernest and sister-in-law Frances Johnson, sister Irene Johnson Leal, and daughter-in-law Karen Huether Norris. She is survived by her
daughter MaryAnn, sons Jerry and Dan, all of Chehalis. Grandchildren Monty of
Tumwater, Joe and wife Carrianne of Canada, and Angie and husband Adam Martinson of Lake Tapps, and their three children, Cole, Kennedy and Taylor.
In 1985, having lived in the North Fork Valley most of her life, Vickie was quoted
saying "I still love the farm and the valley and so you will probably see me there until I join Joe, my parents, and the rest of the ancestors in the Deskins Cemetery." Vickie was a true friend to everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Donations in Vickie's memory can be made to Seattle Children's Hospital Foundation, PO Box 5371/5200, Seattle, WA 98145-5005 and/or Fred Hutchinson's Cancer Research Center, PO Box 12904, Seattle, WA 98109. Viewing will be between 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday June 19, with the service immediately following at 11 a.m. under the direction of Sticklin Funeral Chapel. A potluck (if convenient) reception will follow at the Moose Lodge. Burial will take place later at Deskins Cemetery.
