Anne Renee Guy

Born on July 14, 1966, Anne was a proud graduate of Independence High School, Class of 1984.

Anne was a passionate, loyal, and strong-willed woman—fiery in spirit, silly at heart, and deeply devoted to the people she loved. She appreciated the simple joys of life: digging in the garden soil, watching birds dance in the trees, and walking with her beloved pets, Callie and Molly. Her infectious laughter and the radiant, ever-present smile she wore could light up any room.

A proud, certified member of “the Jesus club,” Anne’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She embodied kindness and grace and was always ready to help someone in need, whether through her listening ear, encouraging words, or a warm hug.

Anne’s greatest joy was her family, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. She is survived by her daughters, Cara Anne McGee (Zakk Orzel) and Emma Renée McGee (Van Harden); her mother, Virginia Thompson Howie (John Howie); her father, David Guy (Marla Guy); her brother, Bobby Guy (Jenny Guy); nephews Dylan Guy and Brady Guy (Aylisa Guy); and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

For many years, Anne served her community as a dedicated school bus driver for the Union County School System, a role she cherished and poured her heart into. In her later years, she found fulfillment working at Charlotte Vitamins and Health, where she helped countless individuals on their journey to wellness and joyfully shared her passion for holistic health.

Anne will be remembered most for the genuine love she gave, her wild and goofy nature, and the way she made life just a little lighter and a lot more fun for everyone around her.

The family asks that you honor her memory by planting something beautiful, taking a walk in nature, or simply laughing out loud in her name.

She lived freely, loved wildly, and smiled always—and her spirit will live on in each of us.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:30pm in the chapel. Anne will be laid to rest at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 2817 Mt. Harmony Church Rd, Matthews, NC 28105.
