

Bob graduated from Charlotte High School in 1954. He went to work for Duke Power where he retired after over 25 years of service. His favorite past-time was watching Carolina Tar Heels basketball and he loved a giant bowl of chocolate ice cream. Bob adored his family and his advice was full of wisdom, for those who listened. He also enjoyed spoiling his dachshund, Peanut. His friendly spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jimmy Ellis.
He is survived by his beloved wife of forty years, Robin Ellis; his daughters, Jan Weaver (Kym), Alison Turnbaugh (Nick), and Kelli Hines (Davis); his grandchildren, Courtney Jett (Austin), Anna Swanson (Stephen), Lindsay Stayton (Colin), David Hines, Adi Grace Turnbaugh, Morgan Turnbaugh, Danielle Hines, Tyler Turnbaugh, Caleb Hines, and Caitlyn Hines; his great-grandchildren, Georgia Swanson, Clara Swanson, Charlotte Swanson, Lula Swanson, Oliver Stayton, Gideon Stayton, Julian Stayton, and Hayes Jett; and many other loving extended family members.
A Celebration of LIfe will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at McEwen Funeral Service - MInt Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC.
