Carl was born June 16, 1959 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Carl John Hagen Jr. and Ruth Jordan Hagen, and grew up in a large loving military family. Carl had a huge heart and was a great and compassionate friend and brother to everyone.
He graduated from Independence High School in Charlotte in 1977, and worked for many years in the automotive field, and later as a computer programmer in the banking industry. In his younger days he enjoyed boating and motorcross. Later, after a serious life changing accident, he enjoyed wheelchair sports and activities. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed all sports.
Carl is survived by his two brothers and four sisters ; Don Hagen (Carol) of Encinitas California, Stephany Williams of Concord, Ralph Hagen of Lenoir, Theresa Pope (Mark) of Mooresville, Lisa Wimbish of Hickory, and Connie Hagen of Charlotte. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at the McEwen Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, North Carolina on February 15 at 11am. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Levine & Dickson Hospice House – Huntersville, in his memory.
