

Born April 13, 1943 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Charles was the son of the late Johnnie Taylor Cook and Charles Russell Cook, Sr. He was an Eagle Scout, and served in the U.S. Army. Charles was a graduate of Cherryville High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi. Charles worked in the trucking industry before starting a successful career in land development. He was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. Charles loved to travel, especially taking cruises.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judith Cook; his son, Marcus Cook of Corona del Mar, California; his daughter, Lynn Murray and husband, Chuck, of Harrisburg, North Carolina; his two grandchildren, Russell Murray and Gracie Murray; and his step-mother, Dollie Cook of Charlotte, North Carolina.
A memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
