Cheryl Frisby Cooke

Cheryl Frisby Cooke, 60, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at her home in Mint Hill, NC. She was in the company of her loving family and friends and in the devoted care of Hospice.

Born November 21, 1957, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Frisby and Hilda B. Frisby. The joy of Cheryl’s life was her family. She adored her husband, Billy Cooke, and was also a devoted mother and grandmother.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 37 years, Billy; a son, Daniel Cooke and his wife, Angela, all of Charlotte; and her beloved granddaughter, Emma. She is also survived by a brother, Ernie Frisby and his wife, PJ; and sister, Dianne Hooker and her husband, Doug, who she lovingly called her angel. She also leaves behind her favorite four-legged friend, Cooper.

Cheryl was a graduate of Appalachian State University in 1980 and worked 27 years with First Union as the Assistant Vice President of Benefits.

A service to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 2, at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 12:30 pm.
